TRAVEL SEAMLESSLY TO MITEC FOR MATTA THIS COMING SEPTEMBER

Kuala Lumpur, 21 August 2023 – The Malaysia International Trade Exhibition Centre (MITEC) is thrilled to announce the forthcoming second series of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA), scheduled to take place at the venue on 1st to 3rd of September 2023.

The joint conference was recently held this week with the presence of Nigel Wong, President of MATTA, Winnee Lim, General Manager of MITEC, and DSP Mohd Fadzillah, Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) KL Enforcement.The conference highlights the enhancements made from the first series of the event including improved traffic flow, arrangements, and a variety of new attractive packages available for the end of the year season.

Nigel Wong, President of MATTA said “We anticipate approximately 200,000 visitors and aim for targeted sales of 50 million for this year. The promotional efforts for this year are not centered on a specific destination, but ‘Cuti-cuti Malaysia’ with a focus on Selangor will be the primary draw for domestic travel”. He also added “We recognize our previous shortcomings during the first series and are committed to consistently improving our service with each event to ensure visitor satisfaction. As we gear up for this upcoming event, we are well-prepared to deliver a positive experience”.

With the expectation of a big turnout this coming September, the venue has joined hands with the police, traffic authorities, and construction teams in the KL Metropolis area to guarantee seamless traffic flow during all forthcoming major events at MITEC, with the aim of minimizing any disruptions to the residents around the area. Winnee Lim, General Manager of MITEC said “The well-being and security of our visitors are our foremost priorities within the venue.

Our team has closely collaborated with relevant stakeholders to identify and address concerns, aiming to preempt any bottlenecks that may have caused significant traffic during the initial event series”.

She also highlights a few of the modification to the event’s arrangement to ensure visitors are happy:

  • Over 27 buses or more will be available for the visitors to MATTA, operating at 10-minute intervals and free of charge.
  • A special bus lane has been designated within the MITEC area for these buses for easy transportation.
  • An array of food and beverage options, with an extended menu at the Food Junction of MITEC, including a selection of local, vegan, and healthy dishes to choose from.

DSP Mohd Fadzly, JSPT KL Enforcement Officer advised the visitors to use the available free shuttle busses and public transport to come at the event. This will not only ensure a seamless and hassle-free experience to the event but also accessible, affordable and practices sustainable transportation, reducing carbon footprint.
