KUALA LUMPUR, 18th May 2023 – Malaysia International Trade Exhibition Centre (MITEC), is proud to have recently hosted Absolut Bazaar X Festival Gaya Raya 2023. The event had a phenomenal turnover of more than 1.65 million visitors recorded from 14th – 17th April 2023, 66 hours non-stop and had successfully generated RM12.76 million ringgit total sales from vendors. The huge turnout of visitors benchmarked the success of this year’s event.

The Opening Day was officiated by the Minister from Ministry of Investment , Trade and Industry (MITI), YBM Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul together with Hema Kandy, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of My Events International, Datin Sabrina Abdullah, Co-Founder of My Events International, Ben Ali and Nadiyah Shahab, Director of Absolut Events & Management, CEO of MITEC Mala Dorasamy and General Manager: Business Development Winnee Lim as the official partner.

MITEC has joined forces with Absolut Bazaar x Gaya Raya Festival 2023, with the aim of being a driving force to help boost the national economy and provide support for local business owners and entrepreneurs. Occupying 3 halls of just over 12,000 sqm featuring over 500 stalls, with more than 100 celebrities, TikTokers, and influencers presented at one venue for the 66-hour non-stop festival.

Mala Dorasamy, the CEO of MITEC said “This partnership is seen as a catalyst for economic growth and development especially for the SME sector, as it provides a platform for various sectors including food & beverages at the mini Absolut Food Fest, clothing, kuih-muih, beauty products, and many more to showcase their products and services to a wider audience”. She also said “The festival is set to be a great opportunity for businesses to connect with potential customers and expand their networks, ultimately leading to increased revenue and growth. By promoting and supporting local businesses, MITEC, MyEvents International and Absolut Events are committed to making a positive impact on the environmental, social economy and the livelihoods of the community”.

The organisers also put together the “Gempak Hamper Raya” with the highest value of RM102,148 making its mark in the Malaysia Book of Records. The hamper was given away on the last night of the show.

Exciting highlights included fun-filled games of the Money Chamber, Wheel of Fortune, and Gempak Hamper Raya. Top-listed celebrities also performed on the main stage and made appearances at the 66 hours non-stop festival including Aedy Ashraf, Amelia Henderson, Anna Jobling, Hael Husaini, Neelofa & Harris Ismail, Sharnaaz Ahmad, Dayan Trisha, and many more.
