KUALA LUMPUR, Thursday, 23 February 2022 - YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul, Minister of International Trade and Industry Malaysia (MITI), made an official visit to Malaysia’s Best Convention Centre as awarded by World MICE Awards, the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). It was the first official visit since opening the Centre in 2017.
“The facilities are not only world-class, but I would label them as 6 stars!” said Tengku Zafrul, in his recent post on Instagram.
“Our discussion goes beyond efforts to energize the Malaysian Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) Industry, but also the use of facilities for ideas such as the empowerment of PKS and large-scale vocational talent training (TVET)”.
MITEC has encompassed a vision to serve the local and international business events market with world class standards of service, gastronomic culinary experiences and innovative products.
The Centre will not only help to strengthen SMEs, but also contribute to job creation.
The minister’s visit to the Centre was not just to gain a better understanding of MITEC’s function in the MICE industry, but as well as attracting relevant ministries, agencies, and corporations to collaborate and promote Trade and Investment growth. MITEC serves as a catalyst for economic growth, job creation and building a legacy for Malaysia as the gateway to southeast Asia.
MITEC has a good pipeline of major events that are confirmed for this year like Kind Malaysia, MATTA Fair, Gaya Raya Bazaar 2023, IPMEX 2023, Metaltech and the most upcoming one, Malaysia International Furniture Fair (MIFF). We look forward to welcoming all exhibitors to these exciting events and showcasing MITEC service levels at the largest MICE venue in Malaysia.
Carrying the brand mantra of #justdifferent, MITEC is committed to building a resilient business towards environmental sustainability through our #myWorld campaign and creating a positive impact for a sustainable future.
