As Malaysia’s largest international trade and exhibition Centre, MITEC has always stressed the importance of performance and delivery to our stakeholders. The world is going through challenging times, but the Venue is taking a stand by focusing on efforts that will contribute to the eradication of COVID-19, which has affected the lives of many.
For our internal team, we remain operational over the period of 18 March – 14 April 2020 but with the tightest caution as all employees are working remotely while the Venue is closed to the public, in line with the announcement by the Government of Malaysia to extend the Movement Control Order (MCO) to continuously curb and fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
MITEC is taking on the responsibility to spread the word of social distancing and while we need to take a step back from on-ground operations, the MITEC team is strategizing for alternative business solutions to service our clients.
Our live-out-of-the-box approach is via the Events “Beyond Boundaries” package which promotes meetings and product launches through live streaming, virtual meetings, e-conferences and more. These are difficult times, but I am certain that with all of us playing our respective role effectively, we will follow suit the recuperation of some of the most affected countries. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all who are affected but together, we shall combat COVID-19 and triumph over this pandemic.
